About the Role:
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist (MD/DNB) to join our OST (Opioid Substitution Therapy) Centre in Jammu & Kashmir. The role involves providing comprehensive mental health care, managing patients with substance use disorders, and supporting their psychosocial rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients with mental health and substance use disorders.
Prescribe and monitor medications, including opioid substitution therapy as per national guidelines.
Provide counselling, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention to patients and families.
Collaborate with psychologists, counsellors, nurses, and social workers for holistic patient care.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical and ethical standards.
Participate in awareness, training, and capacity-building programs related to mental health and de-addiction.
Support quality assurance and contribute to research and program development at the centre.
Qualifications & Requirements:
MD / DNB in Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council.
Prior experience in de-addiction, rehabilitation, or OST centres will be an added advantage.
Strong communication, empathy, and counselling skills.
Commitment to ethical medical practice and patient-centred care.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 6 days a week (as per centre schedule).
